Two early fumbles doomed ISU and gave ND 10 quick points. The ND defense smothered the Cyclones holding them to 3 FG’s and only 68 2nd half yards.

Tommy Rees called the plays and Ian Book passed to Claypool 7/146 yards and one TD. ND totaled 455 yards on offense.

As usual it was the ND defense that controlled the game. Although blown out, they were still a pretty good team and to hold them to 9 points says everything you need to know about this game.

So ND finishes 11-2 and Brian Kelly has had a very good 3 year run.

This is not going to be an easy game for ND. ISU finished 7-5, but here are a few of the games they played, most in the competitive BIG 12:

• L – Iowa 18-17
• L – Baylor 23-21
• L – Oklahoma State 34-27
• L – Oklahoma 42-41
• W – Texas 23-21
• L – Kansas State 27-17

These guys don’t quit so ND must get out to an early lead and keep it. If they don’t, they lose.
ISU passes all over and Purdy is higher rated than Ian Book.

Matt Campbell is a good coach and Brock Purdy is a very good QB. This will definitely be a tough match up for the Irish.
