Well I’ll take the win and be happy we’re 5-0. What a miserable day, cold, rain and sloppy football. Golson almost reverted back to 2012 but this time Rees was not around to bail him out.

He simply cannot hold onto the ball when he runs. He never has and don’t know if that can be fixed. He also is reverting back to passing without his fingers on the laces causing passes to sail.

To his credit he led the team for the final TD pass to Koyack to win the game. It’s also good to see Koyack finally emerging after playing in the shadows the lat 4 years – this was a memorable TD for him.

My God, what the hell is going on with the OL? Center Hegarty got manhandled to an embarrassing degree. Steve Elmer looks lost and he really seems to be regressing – he’s not the road-grader everyone thought he was. All 5 could not handle a 3 man rush and Golson gets sacked. Kelly and Hiestand better take another look at McGlinchy and Q Nelson.

With all that going on the stat sheet shows ND dominated the game:

  • Total Yards – ND 370 Stanford 205
  • Pass Yds – ND 241 to 158
  • Rush Yds – ND 129 to 47
  • 1st Downs – ND 21 to 14

DC VanGorder is something else. He has these kids flying all over the field and Shumate sacked Stanford QB to end the game. ND completely shut down Ty Montgomery which sunk the trees.

Here are some of the game clips and highlights:
