Notre Dame Vs Virginia

What makes a prediction here difficult is that we don’t really know how bad Texas is. I think it’s worse than it appears, for after one game they just demoted their OC. So, we looked good last week but was that just ephemeral and now we go up against a so so team whose HC looks like he’s halfway out the door.

Before we move on to Virginia I want you to take a look at this Ohio State schedule for 2015:

  • 09/07/15 at Virginia Tech
  • 09/12/15 vs Hawaii
  • 09/19/15 vs Northern Illinois
  • 09/26/15 vs Western Michigan
  • 10/03/15 at Indiana
  • 10/10/15 vs Maryland
  • 10/17/15 vs Penn State
  • 10/24/15 at Rutgers
  • 11/07/15 vs Minnesota
  • 11/14/15 at Illinois
  • 11/21/15 vs Michigan State
  • 11/28/15 at Michigan

They have only 1 game against a quality opponent in November – Michigan State. Their schedule should disqualify them from being anywhere near the final four.

I happened to catch UVA vs. UCLA and Virginia actually played them pretty close until the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately, UVA was playing “not to lose” – I don’t remember if UVA threw more than a 10 yard pass. UVA has a decent QB in Matt Johns 21/35 238 yds and their tailback Smoke Mizzell accounted for 100 of those yards – this kid is good. So they lost 34-16.

UCLA has a sensational true frosh QB Jeff Rosen who passed for 351 yards against John Tenuta’s blitz defense. Quick accurate passing defeated the blitz.

This is Virginia’s game of the year so ND must take them out quickly. I mean scoring every offensive series and I mean TD’s. If we get into a FG contest we lose since their kicker is probably the best in the country. It’s an automatic 3 if they get to the 30 yd line.

It’s important for this ND team to pummel teams like UVA as a build up to the big game next week. They have to build each week and it starts Saturday.
