Notre Dame 31 Michigan 0

Wow, how cool was that Notre Dame shuts out Michigan for the first time. Actually the last time Michigan was shut out by anyone was 30 years ago, so this was a great way to end the series. Really also cool that Va. Tech thumped Ohio State.

We had a great game plan on both sides of the ball and holding any Michigan team to 100 yards rushing is a great accomplishment. ND only gained 50 yards on the ground due to the fact that they loaded the box so Golson just threw over them. Fuller (1 TD) and Carlisle (2 TD’s) played very well and Cam McDaniel had a rush score.

Total yards and first downs were pretty even but what absolutely killed Michigan were 4 turnovers 3 picks and 1 fumble recovery. Shumate also had a pick for a TD that was negated by a penalty.

I really like DC VanGorder, he really fires these guys up and completely befuddled Mich. QB Gardner. You can’t beat an aggressive defense so I don’t miss Diaco at all.

How long has it been that ND fans can sit back, relax and enjoy a thorough beatdown?

There must have been close to 20 new guys contributing – how great is that!! Best way to build depth. These kids really, really want to play and they proved they can.
